Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Bhubaneswar to Jashipur & Crocodile Center

Pickup from Bhubaneswar Airport / Railway Station. Drive to Jashipur, Simlipal (250 Kms, 5.5 Hours) in a comfortable private sedan/SUV. En-route enjoy lunch. Check-in to your eco-tourism resort in Simlipal. In the afternoon, visit the Ramtirtha Mugger Crocodile breeding and rearing center. Enjoy an evening jungle walk, bonfire, and traditional dinner. Night stay at resort.

Day 2: Deep Jungle Jeep Safari & Waterfalls

Early morning entry into the Tiger Reserve in an authorized private Open Safari Jeep. Travel through core zone sal corridors. Visit the majestic Barehipani Waterfall (spectacular two-tiered cascade, India's second tallest) and Joranda Waterfall. Spot wild elephants, deer, peacocks, and langurs. Stop at Chahala zone for wildlife spotting. Return to resort for evening tea and dinner.

Day 3: Check-out & Return to Bhubaneswar

After breakfast, checkout from resort. Drive back to Bhubaneswar (250 Kms). En-route lunch at Baripada or Balasore. Drop off at Biju Patnaik Airport / Bhubaneswar station for departure.

When does Simlipal National Park open for tourist safaris?
Simlipal Tiger Reserve remains open for tourists from 1st November to 15th June every year. The park is closed during the monsoon season (mid-June to October) due to slippery forest tracks and heavy rain.
What documents are required to secure forest entry permits?
Government rules require original photo IDs (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License) for all travellers to secure entry permits at the Jashipur or Pithabata gates. Foreign nationals must supply valid Passports and Visas.
